Rapid Taxies or RPT is one of the top contenders on course of disrupting local taxi businesses. Unlike usual ride-hailing businesses which hire gig workers, Rapid Taxies offer full-time employment with benefits. Thus, the company implements an extensive recruitment criterion before getting a driver on-board.

Challenge

Uber is widely available in all major regions of Sri Lanka. Although this island country is small in terms of area, its population close to 22 million offers a huge ride-hailing market. There was a multi-tier challenge of developing a suitable on-demand solution customized to the market needs followed by enabling the business to penetrate deeper in the existence of Uber.

Solution

The socioeconomic classes in Sri Lanka widely vary. We designed the app to accommodate services including three-wheeler, minicab, business and executive class on-demand vehicles, van, and loader truck to cover all sections of the society. Later, we also added on-demand bikes as per the directives from RPT executives.

Impact

We provided a comprehensive enterprise solution that included native apps for drivers, passenger and an admin panel to regulate registration of passengers as well as drivers. This taxi service provider was struggling to expand in Sri Lankan market. Mob Inspire enabled it to penetrate in 8 cities in the country.
